Martin E. Lazzaro: 1960 - 2014, Founder

In the early 1900’s, Marty’s grandfathers came to America seeking a better life. Instead, they found themselves in some of the most dangerous underground coal mines in Pennsylvania, fearing for their lives but hoping that their efforts would lead future generations to becoming educated professionals.

Marty helped finance his education through jobs as a grill boy at McDonald’s, a car salesman, bus boy, surveyor, coal miner, intern at the Allegheny County’s District Attorney’s Office and engineer. He worked at chemical plants, landfills, surface and underground coal mines and on drill rigs. He graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering, and thereafter, received his Juris Doctorate from the Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He handled cases involving traffic fatalities and traumatic brain injuries to children and adults, catastrophic personal injury accidents, as well as permanent, total and partial disability claims. Marty’s former clients included people from an array of professions, including presidents of major corporations, doctors, nurses, salesmen, laborers, contractors, truck drivers and bus drivers, as well as housewives, grandmothers and children.

Marty’s hobbies included collecting and driving exotic automobiles and throwing parties for his clients, friends, and family. He was member of the Pennsylvania Association For Justice, Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Allegheny County Bar Association.
